چکیده
The effects of expansion waves on incident shock-wave/boundary-layer interactions (SWBLIs) at a Mach number 4.96 are experimentally studied. flow characteristics the interaction zone under various intensities and positions shock wave quantitatively analyzed. weaken intensity encountered, thereby weakening SWBLIs. With an increasing distance between zone, total wall pressure jump interference length show linear growth trend. However, do not affect initial separation, which is consistent with free-interaction theory. Finally, scaling model proposed by Souverein et al. [“A analysis for turbulent interactions,” J. Fluid Mech. 714, 505 (2013)] simply modified using measured value jump. This correction provides better approximate result SWBLIs impact waves.

Numerical Simulation of Shock-Wave/Boundary/Layer Interactions in a Hypersonic Compression Corner Flow
Numerical results are presented for the shock-boundary layer interactions in a hypersonic flow over a sharp leading edge compression corner. In this study, a second- order Godunov type scheme based on solving a Generalized Riemann Problem (GRP) at each cell interface is used to solve thin shear layer approximation of laminar Navier-Stokes (N-S) equations. The calculated flow-field shows general...
متن کاملRaman spectroscopy of hypersonic shock waves
Raman spectroscopy is shown to be an efficient diagnostic methodology for the study of hypersonic shock waves. As a test, absolute density and rotational population profiles have been measured across five representative normal shock waves of N2 generated in a free jet, spanning the Mach number range 7.7<M<15.3. The interconversion of three differentiated populations (cold, scattered, and rether...
متن کاملApproximate Viscous Shock-Layer Analysis of Axisymmetric Bodies in Perfect Gas Hypersonic Flow
In this paper, an approximate axisymmetric method is developed which can reliably calculate fully viscous hypersonic flow over blunt-nosed bodies. In this method, a Maslen’s second-order pressure expression is used instead of the normal momentum equation. The combination of Maslen’s second-order pressure expression and viscous shock layer equations is developed to accurately and efficiently com...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation of Shock-Wave/Boundary- Layer Interactions Over an Artificially Heated Model in Hypersonic Flow
Experimental tests have been carried out to analyze the effect of wall-to-total temperature ratio on the characteristics of a fully laminar shock-wave/boundary-layer interaction in a Mach 6 high enthalpy flow. Test cases were run in a new high-enthalpy arc-heated wind tunnel developed at Centrospazio in the framework of the ESA/FESTIP program. In order to heat-up the model surface a high temper...

The capabilities of a relatively new direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) code are examined for the problem of hypersonic laminar shock/shock a n d s h o c k/boundary layer interactions, where boundary layer separation is an important feature of the ow. Flow about two model conngurations is considered, where both conngurations (a biconic and a hollow cylinder-are) have recent published experime...
